Office party last night.

I've decided that I'm never attending a party with less than 500 people.

I haaaaate parties to start with. I never attend office parties but this was the last one, so I went.

Five people showed.

My boss had it as a potluck at her house, but she was a little uncomfortable about having it at her house (kid mess, you know).

The big entertainment was throwing a ball for the dog to chase. There was food.

Everyone fortunately had another engagement that evening (everyone!) so we escaped after only two and half zombie-like hours.

That's... even smaller and awkwarder than I had imagined.

It was pretty sad. I kept feeling like the party was an utter failure because of my presence, I wasn't managing to be interesting enough, but I don't think anything could have salvaged it.

Reeeaaaaallly awkward. And not as much fun as work. How to office parties manage to be less fun than work?
