*faceplant* The temple is saved.
Apr. 29th, 2010 11:51 pmThank you all. The temple is saved!
As of the close of the telethon last night we had $205,126 of the $250,000 needed to save the temple.
People from all over tuned in, the Czech Republic, Australia ... the people on the west coast were still going strong when the folks back east ran out of steam. An amused visitor from the Assembly of God U-Stream channel wandered in and joked they needed a gong like ours to ring when they hit a milestone. A donor matched everything raised in the telethon last night.
More came in throughout the night and today. We definitely have it.
Not only that, the media interviewed us this morning about the situation and our desperate fund raising efforts. Another interview's coming soon.
On top of that, today our lawyers negotiated a two-week extension with theblood-sucking predator bank. That allows us time to gather funds since the large donations aren't always liquid.
The kind things you all said and the donations even when I know you don't have much, well ... sigh. I can't tell you how heartening it was. I've been through so many crisis this past year that I'm worn down to a nub. But all it took was you guys saying, "I know you can do it!" and "Good luck!" (and "Fucking banks!") to cheer me right up. :p
And now....
*faceplant*
I move tomorrow. But for tonight -- let's celebrate!
*pop!*
I'll be curled in a ball in the corner while you enjoy the brie and champagne.
