Atlantis Big Bang: up to Impression.

icarusJust hit 4,600 words on my Atlantis Big Bang Pern/SGA fusion. John has just caused havoc in the Weyr and been rescued by a bronze. Rodney is perturbed.
4654 / 40000 words. 12% done!
I'm up to scene two of 27 from in my outline, though I added two establishing scenes. So the story is 29 scenes at this point, roughly 1,100 words per scene.
ETA: I'm really pleased with that progress. That's a lot. All of it was pretty much written last night. I've had no time until now.
I'd given up.
I thought, no way, I can't make it. But thengblvr extended the deadline. And Antiques Guy went out of town.
Some of you think that I have until August 10th to finish the first draft. Not really. I have until July 24th. Then my life gets busy again. Bear in mind that with a thorough outline I have written 10,000 words in three days.
I think I can make the word count. The real question is, can I finish the story?
