Happy horses.
Mar. 5th, 2012 03:32 pmDriving in the country this am, snow flecks on the windshield. The sky was dull gray and cold, but none of it was going to stick or even trouble the crocuses.
I passed a fenced field where about a dozen horses grazed.
Each horse had his own snap-on blanket against the cold. They looked warm, well-brushed, and happy.
Made my day. How 'bout yours?

Dartmoor, and there were ponies (though not baby ones). Sunshine and a cold wind. Tea and peacocks at Badger's Holt, where a very fluffy cat appeared at the sight of scones, and stayed on my lap even when I made it clear that the cream was not going to be shared.

Date: 2012-03-06 09:20 pm (UTC)The cat was VERY hopeful indeed when it first appeared, but seemed to settle quite happily for admiration and stroking when cream was not forthcoming, and I was most happy with this.
Sometimes I visit a house where there are cats, but they are not usually particularly impressed with me (or indeed with anyone) - currently I am scheduled to housesit and look after them at Easter, at which point they may deign to sleep on my bed sometimes, and possibly deposit a selection of deceased rodents at my feet (and demand to be told how wonderful they are for doing so), but in the daytime Lucy will still disappear if I walk into a room too quickly, and Penelope will inform me that while the offer to sit on my lap is very kind, her basket is much more comfortable, thanks anyway.
