Kiddos: The "crush" session from 3-5pm

Ah, Wednesday, it must be Paris. Or in this case, my "crush" session.

I've two teenage boys I'm tutoring, one in 10th grade, the other in 11th. Both of them have hopeless crushes.

No, not on each other, you slashers.

Today, I even got the batted eyelashes and a sloe-eyed look over the edge of a book. LOL!

Would I resort to using this to make them write more essays? Heck yeah!

I can't say they're not adorable, because they are. But the one absolutely refused to write essays ... but now he gets my complete and undivided attention, unstinting praise and appreciation, and thoughtful comments. His response. "Can we write an essay today?" From the guy who drew a picture of an alien instead of an essay just last fall, lol!

The hormones usually get in his way. He told me today, "I was in this test, and I just kinda ... stared at this girl in front of me ... until I realized, wait, I'm supposed to doing this test!" He also accidentally hit on the office assistant, not realizing that she wasn't a fellow student. "It's automatic, and she looked like... god, I'm so embarrassed!" he said, his head in his hands.
