Three nights of being up all night for no reason, hello, nightland.

This is made worse by the fact that I finally slept ... from 7pm-11pm or thereabouts.

Fortunately, my cats can sleep any time. So there's always someone willing to join me for a nap.

But I have to be at work at 8:50am tomorrow, and my Sunday schedule can best be summed up with sound effects:

*insert here the sound of a large wheel rolling over a small, starved and sleep-deprived body*

Tony and Steve fighting at first. (They had sparkage in the movie.) Then not fighing so much.

Or more Tony and Bruce friendship. And...Hulk like Ironman.

I was talking with sarka about this the other day -- I just don't see the Tony/Steve.

For you:

"You two planning to sleep sometime?" Pepper asked with the easy air of someone who didn't care one way or another. She softly slumped to the couch and Tony's arm automatically made room for her, draping over her shoulder.

Across the room, Bruce muttered a curse and erased his work with a stutter of keyboard strokes. Anyone else would be nervous.

"He's so cute when he works," Tony said in a bland voice. "He's like the little brother I never got to torment, or an adopted waif."

"Waif," she repeated. "Who just happens to turn into a ... is it a twelve or fifteen foot monster?"

"You know, I think it varies. We'll have to do some research on that," Tony said.

"Let's not," Bruce said, proving he could, in fact, hear them.

"I meant with the video feeds," Tony said, raising his voice to deliberately carry. He turned to Pepper. "Maybe pauper is the better term. I find the idea of showering largesse upon the unwashed masses appealing."

"Maybe he wouldn't be a pauper if you paid him an actual salary," she pointed out with a dry, semi-accusing smirk. She'd always had the knack of calling Tony on his crap while still being amused by him.

"You'd pay me?" Bruce sounded genuinely surprised.

"You can see how he ended up working for the university," Tony said, smug. "Let's see if you make any headway first."

Pepper interrupted, "I'll draw up the employment contract in the morning. I think they changed the I-9 again." She disentangled herself from Tony's arm.

"You're not even going to negotiate?" Tony complained. Pepper rolled her eyes as she strolled to the bedroom. He called after her, "If you're going to spend my money wildly, the least you could do is waste it on furs and diamonds!"

Tony sighed and leaned on his hand. He studied Bruce a moment before saying, "You're going to cost me an arm and a leg, aren't you?"

"I don't need any diamonds but a fur sounds nice," Bruce said.

"There's no dental," Tony sniped.

"Hasn't been an issue," Bruce said, nonplussed.

"There's medical. But I'm your HMO. I say what gets paid," Tony warned.

"You're an awful boss, I can see it already."

Tony nodded emphatically. "Just ask Jarvis. You were better off with largesse."

I think Tony and Bruce make great friends. :)

I love Pepper too. She's pretty much like Tony in that she does as she wants, gives him a look and gets her way. lol
