Your opinion, please: buying a bed.

icarusI currently have a borrowed bed. It looks a little bit like this:
The daybed
It looks very nice, but it's:
a) a twin, which only worked with S. because he's rather thin and snuggly.
b) not my style at all. I'm not into ultra feminine furniture.
c) brass, i.e. metal, i.e. cold when you touch it accidentally, yeep. There's a reason I like wood.
d) not my bed, which creeps me out. It's one thing to be a guest. Another to always be using someone else's bed.
Options:
The sleigh bed.
The nicer (and pricier) of the two. Good quality wood, on sale. The wood suits my other furniture. The bed is not perfect for the room though. The headboard's a little too high so I'd have to do an awkward arrangement to make it fit. This one is more of an investment in my future apartments.
The modern bed.
Muuuuuch cheaper. The style would not dominate the room. It's solid wood, mahogany with veneer, quality stuff I believe. Also on sale. The wood seems to be darker than my other furniture, which leans more toward walnut and cherry, but would still work. It's a more modern style than I usually look for, though part of that effect is the other furniture in the photo.
Well. What do you think?
