When the Deathmatch died...
Jan. 11th, 2004 06:22 pmSo this is pretty informal. Anonymous posts aren't counted, neither are votes that don't state some reason (however spurious) for the preference. The selection of the two stories are completely arbitrary, though I do allow write-in votes.
Since technically this is just another way to garner reviews, I don't think anyone's going to object. But I've always been curious about this sort of thing.
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE.
Let's kick this off with
After The Flood. Draco/Harry, Ron. NC-17.
Draco Veritas Draco, Harry, etc., PG-13.
On an unrelated note,
(ETA: vote for your favourite. Thanks Lily.)
ETA2: It's more fun if we don't slam one or another story. *ouch* I happen to like them both.
You can still vote, (this was early, so very few did) but if you're curious the results are here.
Later votes -
Maya, Amanuensis, Rushlight, Sushi, Aspen, Cybele, and Anna.

Date: 2004-01-11 08:27 pm (UTC)I'm just looking at it from the writer's point of view. If people praised Beg Me For It by saying 'yeah, Primer to the Dark Arts is puerile' I'd wince.

Date: 2004-01-11 10:20 pm (UTC)I do like After the Flood, but the Draco Trilogy was among the stories that drew me into fandom, so it holds a special place.
Plus, sometimes I am really in the mood for plot, subplots, and sub-sub-plots.

Date: 2004-01-12 03:34 am (UTC)I preferred After The Flood because ASIH is just too dark for me, I didn't like Harry in it, and the food - er - turned my stomach. But ATF had 'patient best friend' Ron and 'irresponsible and confused' Draco the-awful-guest. There was a strange sense of resolution to it, even though none of them could really tell where they were headed. So that's why I picked that one.

Actually, I think we're done with this vote.

Date: 2004-01-22 03:47 am (UTC)And i even don't want to think what if she (or the authors of the other 5 WIPs I follow [yes, I still fall in the trap however much I try to prevent it ;/]) never finishes it.
I always regard an abandoned fic as a personal betrayal. I even once (in Rammstein RPS community) wrote a fic-calling for the dead - a story where an old man goes to a cemetery to tell his last goodbye to his former friend and lovers.
