Okay, I got a minimalist SGA Santa prompt. Which leaves it wiiiide open.
But it gives me nothin'.
The author's LJ doesn't tell me much either. Except they seem to like close-to-canon fics. And John. And John/Rodney.
So.
What do YOU want in an SGA fic?

Date: 2013-10-23 12:29 pm (UTC)I probably shouldn't say what I want: for SGA Santa I've had the longest prompt post for a few years running /o\
Um. But I like canon-type adventures! I don't like "evil native primitive villagers" a la canon: I mean, the gaijin in this scenario are the earthlings, ne.
I love learning more about Pegasus culture: Ronon's Teyla's #1 babysitter because on Sateda, a man's not really a man until he's raised a child (even a sibling, cousin, or orphan) and Ronon's turn is up.
I love clever puzzle stories where the team have to rely on their weaknesses and not their strengths: John's got a broken leg, so he does all the thinking and Rodney has to do the survival stuff after a jumper crash. Ronon and Teyla rely on their knowledge of history, politics, and folklore to solve a problem, and John and Rodney aren't asses about it (take that, The Shrine!).
Trouble offworld is always fun, but what about trouble on Atlantis? Someone's sabotaging systems, or stealing tech, or sending threatening messages: who and why? How does policework on Atlantis work, anyway? Is the military in charge?

Date: 2013-10-23 08:02 pm (UTC)John and Rodney keep turning up on my tumblr dash lately, and I keep remembering all the stuff I adored about them. Remember when we found out they'd been secretly sneaking off to play video games with each other for YEARS? <3 <3 <3
I'm due for a rewatch soon, I think.

It's good to hear from you, by the way. I signed up for tumblr and put up a couple misc. posts. I miss fandom but only a slice of it seems to be happening on DW/LJ these days. The only thing is I can't take the blinky gifs and vines on Tumblr... owww....
