This is extremely difficult to choose, because [livejournal.com profile] cursescar is prolific, varied, and an excellent writer. Okay, once again, vote for your favourite Aspen story, tell us why, and if you want to slam one story over another, put on your boxing gloves and go to [livejournal.com profile] hpbnfdm_lives. Write-in votes are accepted, and with Aspen I expect a lot of them.

Confection Carnage
Daisychain!Draco
If That Mockingbird Won't Sing

And the write-ins have begun! *knew this would happen*
You're Sixteen, (You're Beautiful, And You're Mine)
Bittersweet
Just A Boy
Quicksilver
Into The Fire
Close Kept

ETA: Even more write-ins. *Icarus gets out the abacus.* This is fun!

You can still vote, but the results are in!

Other votes -
Maya, Amanuensis, Rushlight, Sushi, Anna, Cybele, and Cassandra Claire.

*hems and haws* Well, I did '...guh' quite a bit over Mockingbird (and even felt inspired for the first time in my life to go to a confessional, haha, never mind that I'm not even Catholic), and perved endlessly over Sixteen and Daisychain!Draco, but somehow -- and I don't know why, but I just do -- I have to vote for Bittersweet (and respective sequel), because reading it really made me sigh for a long, thoughtful moment; it was so unique and well-written, and absolutely worthy of fangirling, given that I had never heard of or considered Cedric/Harry before. (and [livejournal.com profile] seviet's fanart for it is one of the loveliest teasers I've ever seen, especially the scene that it illustrates. ;)

'If that Mockingbird won't sing' is one of my all-time favourites in the fandom because it has so many levels of fantasy and possibility working in it, AND has some of the hottest interaction ever! So it simply HAS to get my vote, despite my loving the other stories as well.

OMFG WHAT IS THIS MADNESS Have you people not read Quicksilver? Hello! Swordplay, blood, kink, buttsex -- HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG? My vote counts as like seventeen, one for each personality.

I can't help it! :D God knows I'm not a rabid Snarry fan but this fic just make me want to *snog* Aspen.

Hmm...I seem to have unpopular opinions. :\ I second the write-in for Just A Boy. Because I will be happy having read such imagery even once in my life. Just A Boy is one of the few stories I can read over and over and over and its impact never decreases.

I was extremely torn between that one and Mockingbird, if it makes you feel any better. :) I just went with gut feelings, where I technically prob liked Just A Boy better.

I love Confection Carnage, but I'm going to have to vote for Daisychain!Draco because, for me, it defines its genre.

For all the Aspen-fiction in the world, and how wonderful it all is, I still must cast my vote for Daisychain!Draco. Because... Well. If you've read it, you know.

You're Sixteen (You're Beautiful, And You're Mine) is definitely her best.

Though: It makes me cry that I can't vote for Into the Fire and If That Mockingbird Won't Sing as well.

...Can't I just vote for all her stuff?

In a way you just did, since Aspen is reading this. ;) Which is sort of the point of the entire contest, to weigh which stories are the most successful. Sometimes it's not the highest-quality writing. Where is that essence that really 'works' for the readers?

Really? Excellent. *thumbs up picture*

I mean, Daisychain and company are going to be popular because they were so original (and originality is the essence of the fandom,) but I don't read Harry/Sirius, and I loved Sixteen so it gets my vote. But I also love Snarry, so it was a heartwrenching struggle.

Much props to you for the fun, and the huge compliment it is to the author, and stuff.

I vote for "Eight Days a Week".

It's the best Arthur/Draco I've ever read, if not even the only! ;)

That's an excellent story, and in fact I thought of when I was writing up my candidates. I figured it was probably not as well-known as the others.

Good choice.

Well, then we just have to keep pimping it, right?

Oh, most definitely "If That Mockingbird Won't Sing," with "Daisychain!Draco" a close second. ITMWS is my absolute favorite fic in fandom ever ever ever. It's bleak and hot and beautiful.

Bloody, bleeding HELL. When did this one get posted? When? How'd I miss it? What's the point in never missing a page of your friendspage if you can't even--

Oh, wait. This isn't supposed to be about me, is it? Heh.

Well, if I had voted, I'd have voted for Mockingbird, and it won, so that's great. Though I absolutely would have been on the fence between it and Just a Boy, and I'm so happy someone wrote in for You're Sixteen--my very first Harry/Sirius, and it was sweet and cute and very very hot and I completely love Aspen for that in addition. See, it is all about me still. Can't help it. ^_^ But's it about my love for her, so that's okay.

Actually, the voting on this one's closed, but the next one is here: Maya (http://www.livejournal.com/users/icarusancalion/138566.html). We're doing about one of these a day. Sushi's was yesterday. Sushi's write-in vote: "A Wizard Song! Oh. Darn. I can dream, can't I?"

:D *snerk*
