icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Percy glows)

Rich plots, witty dialogue, descriptions that are like creme brulee: you can almost taste it. [livejournal.com profile] coldcoffeeeyes is the queen of the (actually finished!) long WiP.

Vote for your favourite. Remember no fic-bashing, and tell us what you liked about it, since we're trying to urge the author to write more, more!

Fic selections are random, and write-ins are all [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1's fault accepted.

Roman Holiday
Moving Pictures
Jewel Of The Nile
The Last Tango In Paris

Now vote!

The voting is closed and here are the results.

Previous votes are Maya, Amanuensis, Rushlight, Sushi, Aspen, Cybele, and Cassandra Claire.

I like 'em all, and had you asked this question when I was still a Snape/Hermione shipper I'd have had a big problem choosing... but now that I'm a slasher I'm desperately in love with Moving Pictures. The phrase "but it was wasting its crayons" sticks in my head to this day, and I first read it over a year ago.

Hmm, this'll be more of a book-marking stop for me, since the only one I've read is Roman Holiday. Also, I'll vote for it, for the same reason, and 'cause it's clever and good.

I'll vote for Moving Pictures because it's one of those fics that didn't rush the romance along. Plus, I just can't forget that scene with Harry touching himself and Ron's picture gettig himself off as well. That was a classic for me!

'Moving Pictures' is absolutely brilliant and I'd completely die for the next chapter. Such a Harry/Ron sucker. Oh man.

Moving Pictures, because it's all about the slash.

Well, I may usually go with the slash-bent of your f-list, but I'm not voting for Moving Pictures. This, however, is only because it's a WiP, as it's, hands-down, my favorite Harry/Ron fic.

If Moving Pictures were complete, we'd have a battle because I'm completely in love, love, love with Roman Holiday. It's definitely the best serious Draco/Hermione I've ever read ([livejournal.com profile] sociofemme's D/Hr is the only thing stopping me from saying it's the best Draco/Hermione I've ever read, period), from the hot, awkward first time sex, right up to and including the inevitable break up. It's also one of the hottest Snape/Hermione I've ever read. I devoured this fic - it happens to be the first full-length HP fic I ever read, so it has a special place in my heart.

So, yeah, Roman Holiday, baby.

They're all so good, but "Roman Holiday" is my first love, so I'll have to stick with that.

Jewel of the Nile - I always thought it was the best of the three. (& the Substitute - Not that I adore Steve Irwin or anything, oh no, no of course not.)

Dude, brings back memories of my pre-slash days. I met all my RL fanficcers because of Roman Holiday and someone mentioning it in a writing workshop.

PS: It's coldcoffeeeyes, with a triple e.

Because it has no Bill or Draco (at least not much until now).

Why do I vote het again? Oh, because I hate have difficulties reading Harry/Ron no matter how well written.

Am just floored that you managed to picked a het author that I've actually read most of their stuff, all that you have listed here anyway, because I dare you to be able to do it again. This was some of the first stuff I read when I first found HP fanfic, and had not yet ventured my timid little mind into the big bad scary world of slash. LOL Not my taste in reading material anymore stylewise or on subject matter, but I still remember it. And if memory serves right, my favorite was

Roman Holiday

Draco/Hermione in the Sistine Chapel under the invisibility cloak... and in the crypt with the skulls (can't remember the name) -- those scenes I still remember. And I was so PISSED at the author over the Snape spanking/molesting bit. HA! Oh, my...
when I think of how my reading material has changed so much...
*blush*

Hee! Thanks for all the nice comments.

And I'm told my vote's worth two, but I really can't decide. I guess I like whichever one I'm working on the best.

Moving Pictures, because Harry/Ron, and in particular because the moment in the first chapter when Harry realizes that Ron's photo has been watching him wank is terrific and very memorable.

Jewel of the Nile. Because I love Hermione in this. And Bill Weasley certainly doesn't hurt.

I can't believe I just voted for a Snape/Hermione fic.

Arggh - cannot decide between Roman Holiday, Last Tango, and The Substitute,/i>. I like the latter part of Last Tango better, agreeing with Snape on what a limp dishrag Hermione had been, and I adore the scene when he petrifies her after she's called him a flobberworm. Happy ending, perhaps? The Substitute is rib aching funny.

Vote goes for Roman Holiday because it is complete!
