One of our voters pointed out that it was possibly unfair to pit the sheer behemoth power of novel-length fics against short stories.
Hm.
I considered it. But then I watched The Reader (a write-in) rack up the points. It was a very close race, and had Inot had class this morning ended it at 10 am it would have been quite a different outcome. The winner is (by a hair):
...with 26 votes.
The Reader came in second with 24 votes.
Atrophy claimed a clean win for third with 12 votes
And the rest of the field is as follows:
Commencement 8 votes
Strip/TEASE! with 6 1/2 votes
Monsoon Season gathered 6 votes (and you thought you were the only one)
Kissing Harry Potter and
Inscription both got 4 votes
Trade 3 votes
Twelfth Night got 2 1/2 votes. (note: friendslocked.)
Annnnd Blue Jeans!Harry and Every Second gathered 2 votes each.
Stay tuned, sports fans. Next up: oh. I'm not supposed to tell you that, am I?
The Fine Print:
Previous votes are Aja, McTabby, Um, Icarus *eheh*, Anna, Minx, Maya, Amanuensis, Rushlight, Sushi, Aspen, Cybele, and Cassandra Claire. Void where prohibited.

Date: 2004-01-28 05:31 am (UTC)To tell you the truth, I've found new stories this way, too. To give you a little more, the ultimate authority on recommendations (with a slant towards the dark/angst) is Switchknife's Slash Recommendations (http://aeristerra.com/switchknife/). Everything in there is excellent, and there are hundreds of stories. Plus the site is updated regularly.
