Hear ye, hear ye. The Making of Samwise has been updated. Another gentle lyrical chapter in the longest most true-to-Tolkien slash story available. If you haven't started, don't be intimidated by the 48 chapters - they're short, some of them only four-five pages. Don't be intimidated that it's a WiP. It's been religiously updated and is definitely past the half-way point, I'd guess, probably more like 2/3rds to 3/4s. Don't be squicked that it's Frodo/Sam. It's angsty and serious, and has built beautifully, at the speed of a lazy summer afternoon. Shire-life is rendered in exquisite detail.
Come one, come all, if you read nothing else in the LotR fandom, read this.
