Oh, I got that Last Temptation of Christ or whatever Christian movie-is-the-latest-in-beating-this-nailed-to-a-cross-dead-horse Spam. I'm thinking unChristian thoughts towards certain Christians at the moment. Keeping up my current trend of extreme and immediate action nipping problems in the bud, I've now screened all anonymous posts. They can be there, I'm just not going to allow my LJ to be used to advertise. *deletes spam*

ETA: Percy's journal got the same spam. I'm wondering how this virus works? Does it automatically search through your friendslist and expand out from there?

i've so far seen it in others' journals without getting one and have wondered how they're placed. they're so gauche and off-putting. setting your lj to screen anonymous posts seems the best solution, unless lj acts somehow to block them (though i don't know how they could).

You can disallow all anonymous posts, but I link to LJ stories and shorts from my website, and get enough anonymous reviews that I don't want to do that.

Weird. How are they finding these LJs? It can't be completely random... can it?

I have no clue, but Mad Maudlin also got spammed with it.

That's not weird anymore, just plain creepy!
