snoopypez and her Ron Ficathon (three more days! *squee*) has inspired me to sponser the next Ficathon. By popular request (and because I can't get enough of our favourite Head Boy) we're sponsoring the -

What do want in a Percy story written just for you?
* Contact info - LJ username and a valid email address.
* Pairing(s) - Of course has to be Percy/someone, anyone. It can also be Gen, or even (shudders) Het.
* One or two other requests you would like in your fic - first time? Kinks? Happy ending? You want them to squick you? Humour? Darkfic? Cross-dressing?
* One restriction - No character death? Can't bear het? Hate slash? Bloodplay squicks you? No incest? Hate Oliver Wood? Please tell us. We want you to like your story.

What are you willing to write for someone else?
* The story you will write contains (keep it relatively broad and that will help me) -
1) Please list pairings you're willing to write.
2) List whether you will write Het, Gen, Slash, Any, or what combination of these.
3) List one thing you will absolutely not write.
I'll do the best I can to hook you up with something you like, though I make no promises!

Around the 14th (maybe sooner), I'll email you your assignments and announce the new community. Then, starting the 15th you'll be able to post your story there and brag in your LJ.

If you feel you won't be able to make the deadline, please let me know at least five days in advance of the deadline. It's just terrible to hand out presents and then come up empty handed for someone. The sad eyes. The crest-fallen look. It's unbearable. *whimper* (Besides, if you don't finish, we'll tie you to the may-pole and dance around making derisive comments. ;)

ETA: A couple more details.

1 - electricandroid asked how long fics needed to be. Well, the main goal is for everyone to have a fic and sometimes fics are long or short of their own accord and still great (look at Aspen's work). The minimum (so no one feels cheated) is around 500 words.

2 - lyricalnight (I think it was) and I talked about how to phrase your requests. What tends to spark writers' imaginations is open-ended language: 'I love awkward realistic sex,' 'I like to see characters meet in unexpected circumstances,' 'discovering a new side to someone,' 'one night stands fascinate me, all those loose ends when you see them again.'

3 - This is not a random challenge. I'm following gmth's example and working hard to give you something close to what you want to write. So don't be afraid!

I don't suppose you guys would like to host the Percy Ficathon stories? Kill two birds with one stone? Kick start your group with an influx of at least 30-40 stories and members over the next month and a half?

Yes! Definitely! We'd be thrilled! If you'd be interested, I'll talk to Lily about you joining us as a mod, too. That way, it will still be your baby, but you'll also have support.


If I'd realised there so many of these going on I would have waited to do the Percy Ficathon.

I don't know, from what I've heard from the Buffy crowd, these things multiply exponentially. There will probably be even more in a month or so. Either that, or everyone will be burnt out.

Okay, let's do it. And let's get some more writers -- specifically I need someone to do, um, er, Bellatrix/Percy, Tom/Percy that isn't angst or darkfic. Eheh.

Oh, I don't mind receiving dark fic. I just don't want to have to write it. I'm an actor, I tend to become the characters as I write them, to a degree. And the story I'm working on right now is very dark.

Oh, and I've sent an e-mail off to Lily. I doubt she'd have any objections to either hosting the fest or bringing you in as a mod. But, I also don't want to seem to be cutting her out of the decision.

I've already posted about the Ficathon at weasleyworship. As soon as I hear from Lily, I'll update it with the happy news.

And, I've sent Isis a note about the community for quickquote. So, I'll inform her (again, as soon as I hear from Lily), or you can, that the Ficathon has found a home there. Though we'll still link here for the registration.

Everyone will conform to the community rules, use the proper template, etc., etc. I'll do the mix and match with the assignments and the mass emailing of who does what story. I'm going cross-eyed with matching people up at the moment, but I knew that was going to happen.

We've got 36 writers so far and I've assigned all but a handful of the stories, though I've not given out any of the assignments -- not until we have everyone. *crosses fingers for a Percy/Bellatrix, not darkfic. I want to see this.*
