Meet readers in Person?

So last night I discovered another HP fanfic reader. She's in my English class and I rattled on about Percy for a good hour.

So I asked her, "Have you read wikdsushi?"

She's been meaning to, just hasn't gotten around to it.

A thought occurred to me. Um... Have you ever read Icarus?

"Oh yeah, of course."

Squeeeeeeeal!

The best part was she didn't jump up and down and tell me 'oh wow, you're such a great writer.' It was just, "Yeah-yeah, everyone likes that." Pure entertainment. She didn't know what she'd read, but from the sound of it (length) it was Primer to the Dark Arts.

I'm just giddy with it. I think she didn't realise I was really serious about fanfiction (rather than HP canon) until I asked her about Sushi. Come to think of it... I didn't think she was either. I have a stack of authors to recommend. :D

What a cosmic moment. I'm still at step 0 - I know a few people who've read canon. No fanon. Certainly no slash. The conversation stops at step 0.

There's an extension. Sorry, I've been responsible today and didn't get online until after I finished my homework. I haven't seen what people have voted for, but I just heard from one of my writers -- someone they're close to has been in a motorcycle accident, so I may just go with the 15th anyway.

The chick sitting next to me in my Russian culture/history class on Tuesday was reading CoS. We got to talking, and apparently she spends all her time on ff.net. Which is a little scary, but kinda cool.
