Celebrate by... Walking the Plank
Apr. 19th, 2003 10:11 amSomeone wrote to me to ask about 'Snape Manor' and I mentioned the upcoming 'A Wizard's Song.' She hadn't heard of Walking the Plank!
Wellllllll... This is the site that converted me to Harry/Snape from Gen and Harry/Ron. Though I am still clearly someone who loves to throw Harry and Ron together, in a variety of interesting positions. ;)
Walking the Plank
There are tons of fantastic Harry/Snape stories.
The ones I recommend are not the only good stories at the Plank, but simply the ones I have read. Do please poke around, and enjoy. I enjoy and appreciate humour, insightfulness, and hot sex.
I recommend:
All of Telanu's stories, especially the 'Tea' and 'Coffee' series.
Her Your Horoscope for Today is hysterical, and I've read it many times.
A Most Disquieting Tea
Almost, At Times, The Fool
Like A Glass
Corresponding - My personal favourite of the series!
then... coming soon (but not up yet) 'A Wizard's Song'!
Minx writes the hottest sex scenes around. She's warm, and she's funny. And she's perceptive. 'A Good Buy' is one of my favourites. But 'Halloween' is touching, (hot) and sensitive, 'For Services Rendered' is also a good one. 'School Work' is hysterical, I love the way Snape assigns grades.
Seeker's very hot, and outrageous. Steamy, steamy, steamy sex.
Cybele, pretty much anything by her is good, really.
The Retreat Is fun, especially since it includes a little Harry/Ron.
The Challenge has a wicked Snape.
The Road to Hell if you like your Snape in a four-way. ;)
She's famous now for her 'If You Are Prepared' series, which is not on Walking the Plank at this time, but has to be the most powerfully written Harry/Snape ever written. It's that good. It's also seriously depressing, so go in forewarned. If You Are Prepared. Also read 'Quill and Ink,' my favourite HP/SS PWP of all time, which you can find at the above link.
Other favourites:
Both Sides Now - very amusing D/S story artfully told from two sides. I've read it many times, it's light, fun and very accurate.
Clipped Wings - sad, sad AU story, but touching, and well written. I have a low tolerance for angst, but this one has enough sweetness (and a redeemed Dudley!) to make up for it.
Civil War - Mega-fic. Check out Home Fires first, of course. If you're in the mood for a lot of HP/SS, this is three novels and many spin-off stories. I'm not a fan of her SS, too angsty, but she's good. Very good.
Closing Time - unique, really captures the teenage mindset. It is another sad story (I think), very realistic. Ignore the song lyrics, for your own good.
Rite of Passage - This is wonderful, sweet. I've re-read many times. I love the relationship that developes between Harry and Severus. Her Snape is spot on, and very realistic.
Through a Shattered Mirror - Don't be put off by the non-con warnings, this is brilliant, touching, warm, sensual, frightening and insightful. Really one of the best out there.
Not a Coward - A very insightful and interesting PG-rated piece, Snape musing about Harry.
That should get you started. ;)

Hey, should I send the 'Primer to the Dark Arts' in separate chapter files, or as one giant file?
