icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Default)
It's midnight.

I have to work tomorrow.

I should be in bed.

But instead I am rereading 'Seeker to Seeker' (I've learned my lesson with Snitchfiction's bandwidth problems, and saved a copy) and writing up a Ron/Draco recommendation for everyone.

The Art of War by Hijja Ron and Draco, not slash, but don't worry - it's still intense.

This gen story shows us all how Ron and Draco should be portrayed: Draco is a nasty, nasty bastard. Ron is awkward, sarcastic, bright, but hotheaded. He gets in way over his head, very quickly.

The intensity and the hatred between the two builds in a particularly cruel and nasty game of chess, and it's not sexual tension, folks. When Ron learns just what sort of game he's playing, suddenly the it's no longer a test of wills, but a test of character.

Occasionally, Hijja writing reveals she is a native German speaker, but this story is too powerful for it to matter.
