The Art of War
Jun. 2nd, 2003 12:13 amIt's midnight.
I have to work tomorrow.
I should be in bed.
But instead I am rereading 'Seeker to Seeker' (I've learned my lesson with Snitchfiction's bandwidth problems, and saved a copy) and writing up a Ron/Draco recommendation for everyone.
The Art of War by Hijja Ron and Draco, not slash, but don't worry - it's still intense.
This gen story shows us all how Ron and Draco should be portrayed: Draco is a nasty, nasty bastard. Ron is awkward, sarcastic, bright, but hotheaded. He gets in way over his head, very quickly.
The intensity and the hatred between the two builds in a particularly cruel and nasty game of chess, and it's not sexual tension, folks. When Ron learns just what sort of game he's playing, suddenly the it's no longer a test of wills, but a test of character.
Occasionally, Hijja writing reveals she is a native German speaker, but this story is too powerful for it to matter.

She was amused that there was an infamous School of Dark Magic in the nearby Scheibisch(sp?) Alps. We lost contact when my email went down. Then this was recommended to me by a reviewer, I think Caramel from Veela, Inc. I didn't recognize the name, but she responded to my review and we realised we'd found eachother again.
