icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Ron and Draco in Drag)
I have lots and lots of reading to do, and it's all fun except for the newspaper -- but I don' wanna!

I promised I would stay off the computer until I finished the readings. Then I convinced myself that I wasn't taking it in, so I needed a little break, didn't I? Just to check email.

Heh, heh, heh. Don't you love rationalisation? This is even better than my usual 'there's plenty of time' excuse.

Now I'm eating cookies and doing quizzes. *munch, slobber, rebel.*

Oh dear... it might be true.

You're the epitome of snobbishness!

Are You a Fic Snob?

I feel like a nine-year-old. But snobbish nine-year-old it seems.

But, hey, I got a picture of Col. Jack O'Neil, and that's gotta count for something.

This is probably going to come back and bite me in the ass, but I'll have to admit that I like the current incarnation of [livejournal.com profile] hpbnfdm_lives.

*splat!* *splat!* *splat!*

Now, now, hold your tomatoes!
Let me explain.

I hate competition in general. Different writers have different strong points and weaknesses and any determination of one decent writer being better than another is a matter of sheer arbitrary taste. I love humour/fluff, [livejournal.com profile] switchknife loves angst -- we get along great.

But now [livejournal.com profile] hpbnfdm_lives has a link to the writer/artist/whomever's work. And that is a very good thing indeed. Remember what I said about marketing?

Looking for new writers? Check them out. I'm guessing that most of these people are called BNFs because they pumped out some pretty good work.

[livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas has finally put up the last piece, and now everyone is guessing who wrote/drew what.

No one, not anyone, is going to guess which piece was mine.

But I'll give you a little hint: I deliberately reviewed my own piece to throw people off the scent.

Yes, I logged in.

Heh. Heh. Heh.

ETA: Okay, they're up now at [livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas. Looks like Isis was right about [livejournal.com profile] hp_femme's story. And [livejournal.com profile] dragon_light did mine!
icarus: Snape by mysterious artist (Percy Pardon?)
Hi there. [livejournal.com profile] merry_smutmas has revealed the writers and artists behind the work.

All hail, [livejournal.com profile] dragon_light who wrote for a witty, smutty and above all playful (just what the doctor ordered) Ron/Draco fic: Missing Out On A Holiday Miracle.

I want to congratulate [livejournal.com profile] isiscolo on her guesses, both successful and unsuccessful, and tell [livejournal.com profile] jeddy83 that I consider it high praise that she thought I'd written Dragons and Broomsticks, a slow-building Harry/Charlie fic that is utterly believable.

[livejournal.com profile] jeddy83 has a sparing style that is highly intimate, a wonderful understanding guys and very natural sex. It's hot because you believe it.

Which story did I write?

Well, I sat down to write Snape/Percy smut, and had two stories in mind that kept wrestling with each other. But when [livejournal.com profile] gmth ran out of fics to post, I had a different idea that grabbed me and wouldn't let go:

Behind The Facade. NC-17.

[livejournal.com profile] gmth went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me post this. Thank you. *wink* Consider yourself officially let off the hook for that 'Blame Someone Else Challenge.'
