The genderswitch story of the name no one can spell has been updated! (Ardhanarishvara, and say that 20 times very fast.)

And I purr with pride at the OC Capt. Harper (no, not the Harper from SG-1, the name's a coincidence). He's perfect, just perfect. There's a story behind him.

See, I was goofing around while [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa was in the hospital, entertaining her in comments with this OC that extrapolated from the events in part 12. She laughed and responded with John and Rodney's reactions, and then I added an actual scene based on hers. At that [livejournal.com profile] auburnnotthenna and [livejournal.com profile] monanotlisa decided he might just be useful. (Auburn joked that "aha, my evil plan to have other people write this story has been achieved.")

Auburn and I bounced him around a little, and then I handed him off completely, brushing away her warnings that "he might have to change a bit for the sake of the story." No worries, mate, sure he's different but what she did was great. I've forgotten what fun collaboration can be.

Now I dive into, dear lord, 250 pages of reading we were just assigned to have done by tomorrow am, not including the readings for the other class.

Aaaaugh! This latter half of Pamela is worse than the "Praise them with great praise!" scenes in the Lord of the Rings.

I persist in my belief that she's a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.

I'm going to read and write an orgy of fanfic when I finish this book. Just watch. On the bus I was mentally writing deep background that'll never appear in the John-Screws-Up fic but might just make sense of a scrambled scene.

Thanks, Lorne.
