I don't often get flames, concrit yes, but not flames. Yet somehow, for some reason this drabble consistently inspires them:

In November
by Icarus

His lips were soft, which was unexpected. Ron looked like he was all skinny angles, but he was soft really. His eyelashes fluttered closed, his breath a warm pant on Neville's cheek, a November mist.

They had just been talking, that's all, about Quidditch and family and girls and things like that, when it got really, really quiet.

Neville breathed a sigh, and took in the arching branches overhead, the quiet lake, the patch of sky.

"We probably shouldn't do that again."

They both agreed, as they leaned in for a second kiss.

.
.
.

Mystified?

Me too.

I'm going to jump on board the mystified train.
*glomps*

I think it's lovely.

I Do Not Get flamer!logic. It doesn't even apply in any real-life situations. I mean, say, somebody is wearing a t-shirt that you don't really like, or you think is too loud or something. Are you going to walk right up to that person and start bitching them out because of their obvious lack of fashion sense?

Or say you're at a poetry reading and somebody reads some of your own stuff that you think is in bad taste. It's obviously even worse taste for you to sidle up to them and say, "man, that blew". It's like a heaping portion of social retardation, with a side of undue arrogance. Either these people don't seem to realize that there are some rules of etiquette that apply both on and offline, or they just don't care.

Sorry that was ranty, but yes. Flamers. (N) I thought it was good.

...uh?
There's... nothing to flame. Unless they don't like NL/RW, but even then... Tough.
Well, whatever. I think it's lovely. :)

I'm developing a fondness for Neville fic, it seems. But I can't see why people would flame that. I thought it was lovely.

In the flames, is it a matter of them not liking Neville? Do they tell you what their issue is with it? Maybe it is the fact that you have singlehandedly destroyed the OTP that is Harry/Ron!!! How dare you, you wicked, wicked evil person, you!! ;)

PS -- I love Harry/Ron, so you've crushed my little heart. *sniffs*

You want the Neville/Ron? Well you can't handle the Neville/Ron!!

*shrugs* Not. A. Clue.

???!????

Yes. Mystified. Very. It's innocent and lovely.

Hm.

Maybe that's the "problem."

OMGWTF!! HOw coudl u rite a story wit Novembr?!?!? I hate taht month so much!!11!!one11

Um yeah, I thought it was fine. There's really not enough to flame, if you know what I mean. Unless the Ron-haters reeeeally feel that he's not meant for Neville.

What on earth is the nature of the flamage? *is puzzled*

That must be it. People are prejudiced against the month of November, and they simply cannot stand it being in a PG NL/RW fic. *Grin*

That's actually really lovely. I very much liked it. Flame-writers are such goobers. *grin*

That is...odd.

What could be more innocuous that the sweet neville/ron love?

But it was simple and cute. How can that be flamed? Incestual boy sex... understood. Fluffy boy kisses? What is the world coming to.

What kind of flames? I'm curious because ... well, it's short. Harmless. Neville/Ron. Are they flaming the 'ship, the language ...?

Flamers = no logic, mind you.

I don't...get it? I think it's good, I think it's a great adaptation of a pairing that we don't see...ever. It must be all those die-hard R/Hr shippers. Yup.

Maybe it's because you implied it's a once off? They must want to see more Ron/Neville! ;)

I don't get it. I have a Ron/Neville archived at ff.net and I read yours and loved it. Mine is a hell of a lot longer and more explicit and trollish because I started writing it when I first joined the fandom. Should really start to work on that story again.

I don't *get* some people *sighs*

I loved it and thought it was a beautiful piece of writing, even though I rarely read Ron/Neville. I really don't see anything to flame. ... ...Then again since when did flamers have any sort of logic at all? At least I hope the flames were amusing.

Put me with those that are curious about what the flames said. I can't think of any reason this little fic could cause such a reaction. I mean it isn't a standard pairing but so what. It was still rather sweet and gentle and set up a lovely mood.

maybe...

I Do Not Get flamer!logic. It doesn't even apply in any real-life situations.

It's just further proof of the Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3?date=2004-03-19).

They don't need to worry about any retribution at all other then, at worst, flames in return, so they chuck normal rules of etiquette out the window in favor of being the asshats they'd never get away with being IRL.
