So, ah, I guess it was a yes on the 'Cursed Artefacts for Sale' story yesterday. Actually, I was serious, I really wasn't sure if it was worth completing. Mostly I wanted to know if Brodie (aka the other

tinderblast) liked it, since the story is for her.

I lost my virginity at 17 or 18 - can't remember the exact date. Since then I've gone down to 31% purity.

Yeah. I'm only getting interest from men. It's most depressing that I can't exercise half of my sexuality. It's funny because people say I exude omnisexuality and yet, women don't seem to be attracted to me. Curses!

Heh. I went all the way through high school tagged as a lesbian due to a convoluted bizarre conversation with a gossipy gay chorus leader who was trying to set me up with a lesbian student (they were good friends). I'd had no idea my friend Aimee was hitting on me. Fwooosh! Right over my head. The conversation with the chorus teacher was hilarious.

"So... do you like Aimee?"

"Sure! Aimee's my friend." (I was 14.)

"No, I mean, do you like like Aimee?"

"Uh... yeah. Of course."

Consternation. "I mean, do you like Aimee in that way?"

Blank look. In what way? "Uh-huh."

Chorus teacher is silent, can tell I don't get it. Finally he says, "You do know that Aimee is, well, like me?"

What? Italian? I say slowly, "Uh-hungh...?"

He sighs heavily. "What do you feel about Aimee?"

Oh! Well, Aimee had always been part of the popular crowd, but when her best friend went to another school she was sort of stuck with me. Now there were only three girls in class and Lisa was sort of with the black kids, who had their own language, music, everything. You feel really left out of that. "Hmm. Sometimes... I think that Aimee only likes me because I'm the only white girl available."

"You mean you're the only girl available."

"No, there's Lisa."

"Wha -" Chokes. "Lisa is... likes Aimee?"

"Sure." Aimee and Lisa hang out sometimes.

The chorus teacher took off to tell Aimee this exciting news. Wait. It gets better. Aimee wasted no time.

Not twenty minutes later, Lisa came barrelling after me, furious. Aimee was hot on her heels, looking really annoyed.

"Who are you calling 'Lesbian'?"

"What?" What?

"What you doing telling Aimee I'm a Lesbian?!"

"A what? Lisa, I haven't told Aimee anything and how can I call you a word I've never heard of? What's a Lesbian?"

The two of them looked at me, astounded.

"Look guys. This stuff happens to me all the time. People think that I'm smart, so I must know something that I don't. What are you talking about?"

We got it straightened out. But Aimee never told the chorus leader that she'd been hitting on someone for over a year who not only was straight, but had never heard of gay women (can't imagine why...). I thought that offer to take a shower together was a little odd.

Aimee asked me, "So... are you okay with this?"

I shrugged. "Aimee. You're probably the prettiest girl in school. If I want anyone out of the competition, it's you." Lisa laughed and nodded.

True story.

Mm, I figured that was the case at the time, but 6 months ago I would have sworn blind I had no interest in women, so it was a valid question. *grins*
