Harry/Ron rec

The rare well-written Harry/Ron! Not only that, it looks like it's going to be novel-length. Even better: they're both beautifully in character, the magical details at the Burrow are rich and well-visualised... and just Anna's writing style is treat, both vivid and funny. And she captures both Ron and Harry's voice very well.
"The sunset continued to blaze away in a glorious tangle of Gryffindor red-and-gold, but it was wasting its crayons. They weren't watching anymore."
From Ron's POV:
"And Ron had felt a stab of raw power shoot through him, powerful enough to make him shudder: he's as lost in you as you are in him. Figure that one out, will you?
What might have happened next had his blood hula-dancing with expectancy."
I'm going to be watching this one.

Re: Updates
Date: 2003-05-07 03:25 pm (UTC)I'm not as happy with "Circles" as I was with "The Lodger". It's my first HP fic, took forever to write and right from the start wasn't very structured. I love the individual parts, but the thing as a whole is a bit top-heavy ... I'm posting it anyway but hopefully I've learned something from the experience.
I'm delighted you liked "The Lodger", though! And I *am* answering your e-mail - I'm having one of those weeks, but it'll be with you ASAP.

Love love love the Annafic
Date: 2003-05-08 04:43 pm (UTC)If you do the hetfic thing, definitely read her Travelogue series, starting with Roman Holiday. Wonderful little turns of phrase like this: (Hermione's viewpoint)
... let Draco Malfoy settle himself in the untried cradle of her thighs, that part of him had disappeared into part of her and left her feeling like an overdone martini.
That is to say, shaken AND stirred.

Date: 2003-05-10 06:34 am (UTC)Sorry about the infrequency of the updates; I can usually plow through a sticky spot on my other fics, but this one only gets updated when I'm really feeling it. :)
It shows
Date: 2003-05-10 02:30 pm (UTC)Yeah, it shows. There's a lot of feeling in this. I'm so pleased with your writing style, I may even read Het (but only yours ;). Roman Holiday, here we come. After I do some writing today. I'm pushing through a sticky part of a fic right now.
