Does anyone recall the URL to that friend/unfriending thingamajigy? I don't usually track who unfriends me (too depressing) but I've now reached the point where there's a 100-person difference between the number of people I've friended over the ages and those who still have me friended (yeah, lost a few when I started obsessing over Stargate. C'est la vie...).

Now I've hit my legal limit of friends (0.08 I understand), and so I have to delete a few who've deleted me.

Darn it. What was that thingamabob called?

it's at http://marnanel.org/joule - a very handy thing, though kinda depressing, yes.

There should be a prize for being first off the mark. :D And yeah, quite depressing. *cringes*

Cool -- thanks. *pinches bridge of nose, settles shoulders and prepares for the bummer that is unfriending*

Joule is good, and also if you have a client, such as Semagic, it lets you track who comes, who goes, and it's so much easier to post/format posts/track posts etc.

*nods* Very helpful, thank you.

Seamagic sounds like a good idea. I'm going to wait until I've backed up my system though. I killed my Outlook Express account today, so I've decided not to screw with anything.

Just had a look at that Joule thing. You might like to note that it counts name changes as unfriending (the new name is there as a friend but the former name is listed as having unfriended you). So the stats won't be quite right. Still useful, though.

Yeah, I've been noticing that. I've also found that people will delete and then undelete their journals. So that becomes an unfriending/friending. Then there's the simple delete journal -- which gosh happens a lot.

If you're running Windows, you might want to give the Semagic client a try... it keeps track of your friends list and whenever you "edit friends" it gives you a rundown on who has added you, deleted you, changed their LJ name, etc. If you're not running Windows, the Mac client is supposed to be good, but I don't have any experience in it and can't tell you how it handles the friends list.

Yeah, it sounds good. Right now the computer issues have caused a universal duplication of my software, scattered in various cryptically named folders. So I've gone from using 65% of my hard drive to 98%. Yipe.

An attempt yesterday to consolidate some of the mess resulted in an over-write of my Outlook program, which now insists I'm missing components. Fuck.

So, all new software is going to wait until I have my external drive. *nods* Which will be soon, very soon.
