MPreg, anyone?

First off, I wanted to say how impressed I am with the infrastructure the Harry Potter fandom has. If you want recs, there are entire archives and websites with hundreds of them. Do you want just Chan? Try website A. Just NC-17? Try website B. Just MPreg? Try painless_j's thematic lists.

It's a lot tougher in the Lord of the Rings and Stargate SG-1. The stories are there, but finding them is a lot tougher.

shinji_hiroshi is looking for Stargate SG-1 MPreg recs.

I have no clue how to help, except to suggest she take pot-luck and run a search on Area 52.

Any ideas? Anyone? Bueller...?

...you've already pointed her to the most organized list, which isn't really saying that much, because it's listings are not really monitored. If the author doesn't list MPreg when they download the story, or at the site it's picked up from, then you'll only find it by accident.

I've got my own system I use in my favorites, but it's listed by the category I place it in, which may not be how the author sees their story at all. And I only list the ones I want to possibly re-read at some point, and I toss the rest. Since I'm not fond of MPreg, I don't have any listed.

I do have one thing that I guess sort of fits - I mean it is an MPreg of sorts, but it's a Tok'ra queen that gets pregnant, she just uses Daniel's body to do it. It's a good story - longish, but worth it. The Quiet One by Lady Grey.

Okay, well that helps anyway. I'm telling you, rec-lists are a dire necessity, something like what danvers does with an ongoing update. I'm thinking... what we need is not a 'best of' list, but one that marks everything that we've liked even if it's not extraordinary.

And I want your list of favorites. :)

(Speaking of Danvers, she has a great Mini Series but I just tried to get a link to them, and they're not coming up...hopefully that's just a temporary thing!) Well, anyway, just let me know what you're looking for!

Try lotr_fic_recs for some good Lord of the Rings recommendations, and structure. The community has all previous recs, which are structured by pairing, character, etc., saved in memories and available on the front page of the comm.

As for MPreg, I'm not really sure where to send you. There isn't much outside of Necessittee's (or however you spell it) fic, and one or two others. Stargate fic doesn't do Mpreg as often as it does clone!fic or AU!fic. A lot of little Jack and Daniel clones running around out there, if you want recs for that ;)

I'm a Mini!Jack fan, myself. There are some really good ones out there. I'm actually writing one, at the moment. They're just too fascinating to stay away from.
