Asking, begging, pleading for Stargate fan art (instead of photo manips) she took pity on me and drew:

I recommend, for those who have the time to get into a nice, meaty, plotty, sex-filled adventure with interludes of peace that'll knock your socks off The Steak Series (http://www.geocities.com/keiko_kirin/sg/). It captures the feel of the series while building, very, very slowly, the relationship between Jack and Daniel.

Thanks so much! I'm browsing your memories for tidbits. Are there any lj communities you'd particularly recommend I peek at? I'm interested in meta and that kind of thing, in addition to the fics themselves.

I'm not sure about the Meta (haven't looked seriously yet), but there are two communities that I haunt: jackslashdaniel, stargateslash.

There's also the FF.net of the Stargate slashworld: Area 52 (http://www.area52hkh.net). Lotsa good stuff. Also lotsa really, really bad stuff too. Here's the Ship Manifesto (http://www.livejournal.com/community/ship_manifesto/14712.html) with lots of good recs and communities, etc., etc.
