*g* well, yes, I guess you're right, porn *is* good! Too bad you don't read Oz, because I'd send you over to read it. To be honest, it's a rather unusual pairing, and I'm getting some resistance from those who don't want to remember that half of their favorite pairing is actually a very sexy, but creepy sexually aggressive psychopath (who turns out in the end to be a bit of a serial killer.)
Well one of the fics for May is a Stargate Piece for the Kink and Cliche challenge, so maybe I'll get some Stargate smut in, yet. In a brief spark of sanity I refused to sign up for the Jack/Daniel ficathon, realizing that I already had my hands full. I'm trying to learn!

Date: 2005-04-16 06:28 pm (UTC)This one came out of the blue two days ago, so it's great to get back to my Harry Potter days of 1 - get idea, 2 - write the idea immediately, 3 -post story. The Girl!Daniel story won't take too long to write, it's pretty thoroughly mapped out.
Too bad you don't read Oz, because I'd send you over to read it.
If it were Jack/Daniel I'd be on it like white on rice, but to be honest, I'm not even sure what Oz is. I'm assuming it doesn't involve a tin man and Toto.
Where's the Jack/Daniel ficathon. *Sits on hands.* I'm just gonna look, honest.

Date: 2005-04-17 06:22 am (UTC)It's a reality-based prison drama. Oswald (nicknamed Oz) is a Maximum Security Prison, with an experimental unit they call Emerald City. The main story lines are based in Em City, but the huge, ensemble cast includes staff and inmates from all over the prison. Oz had an excellent cast, finely written characters, mostly interesting scripts and very good directing. And being a product of HBO cable, there were few censors to be found, so there was lots of Full Frontal Nudity and Violence and even a Homosexual Love Story. Of course, being Oz, it was a truly fucked up love story, but it was there, none the less. (The show pre-dated Oueer As Folk by several years, so it was the first of it's kind.)
My stories are pretty much all about the sex, so all you need to know is that Alvarez is a young hispanic who's had a multitude of horrible experiences since he got to Oz, starting with the death of his baby and grandfather, getting treated like shit by his gang (he led them for a while and was ousted by an asshole with a big-time grudge against Alvarez), has severe self-image problems (including a penchant for self-mutilation) and has suffered some serious mental illness. He's just about ripe for some kind of sexual domination.
Enter Chris Keller, a psychopathic sexual predator (and serial killer, although we don't learn that until later), who fell in love with Beecher, the man he seduced and broke the heart (and arms) of, in order to pay back a debt to the local Neo-Nazi bad guy. He's been trying to win back Beecher's heart ever since (he saves Beecher's life in a fight soon, Beecher forgives him and he will of course drop Alvarez like a stone when that happens.) To Keller, Alvarez is just a way to get his rocks off and work off the frustration of Beechers current attitude of brushing him off and totally ignoring him.
The Alvarez/Keller story is totally mine, the two have very little contact in the show, but it just made perfect sense to me to put the two together at this point in their lives. One thing that's pretty funny about Oz is that being in a prison, one of the few logical places to have private conversations and lots of sex is in storage closets! So when I moved on to Stargate, the whole On Base sex happening in storage closets thing was a real hoot...can't get away from the closets, dammit! There's an essay on the way, about similarities between these two fandoms; I haven't written it yet, but it's there, waiting...

(You may recognize Keller if you've ever watched Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit, he's Eliot Stabler in that one.) Here's a link to the series if you're interested. The first one is totally unbeta'd, and is definitely the weakest of the series...get through that, and the rest just get better and better (or so I'm told!)

Sure wish I could sign up, myself, but I've got 4 fics due at the end of May, and the due date for this one is June 1st. There's just no freakin' way.
I wrote this whole long post, and then I though...Icarus is so busy, and what makes you think she'll be interested in all this, let alone have time to read it! But hey, I spent all this time writing it, I'm not erasing it now! So here it is...sorry.
