In honor of HBP's new Horrible Snape and Junediamanti's essay, have a little Severus/Peter slice-of-life.

In Servitude
By Icarus

Severus gave a slow sinuous smile as he pulled open the wardrobe door. It creaked ominously.

"Why, good morning, Peter," he said in an almost amiable tone, as if this location were perfectly ordinary. Peter's heart raced. He was fast running out of places to hide. "Did you have a pleasant night's rest? I certainly hope so." Snape turned his back on Peter, clearly expecting him to follow. "We have a very full itinerary today."

"S-something for the Dark Lord?" Peter stepped out of the wardrobe, hoping against hope. Severus Snape paused, and Peter froze, one foot still in the wardrobe.

"I am your Dark Lord, Peter Pettigrew," Snape snarled. "Everything you do for me, you do for Him."

"Y-yes, oh, of course." Peter bobbed his head, wondering if the Dark Lord knew about Snape's private little self-styled titles. Though he was the Dark Lord's favourite, now that Lucius was gone. Peter whimpered a little, then shrank as the sound drew Severus closer. Severus' heavy boots thudded, loud and slow, on the dusty wooden floor. Three steps.

Severus cupped the back of Peter's head and stroked his hair. "There, there, Peter. I won't have you do anything you aren't already well used to. Tell me," that sallow face drew closer and he asked oh-so-softly, "did James have you clean his boots for him?"

"N-no...."

"A slimy little boot-licker like you? I find that... surprising," Severus sneered. "You know not to lie to me, Peter. I can tell when you are lying." Severus drew his head closer, nails digging in. "Tell me how much you liked licking Potter's boots."

Peter shook. "Uh... it was...."

"Say it."

"I, um, I... liked it?"

Snape released him and drew back with a nasty smile. "Very good, Peter. And fortunately for you, you now have the opportunity to do more of the same." Snape looked smug as he led a hesitant Peter downstairs. "And while you work, you can tell me more of these delightful services you performed for Potter and Black."

The next one. Come torment Peter a little more.

Very nice indeed. I loved it. You have to wonder about *those* two sharing that house. Lord almighty there's an opportunity for a little master/slave fic there. I love the scene HBP where Snape calmly catches the little rat (punning again sorry can't resist) eavesdropping not once but twice and sent him scurrying away each time with well directed wand blasts. So Snape, so Pettigrew. Now that we've finally gotten the backstory on Voldemort I'd love to find out a little bit of Peter's as well. What leads you down the path to becoming professional vermin anyway?

Snape and Peter are the definition of S/M. And Snape gets to play out all of his revenge fantasies, all of his strange fantasies about what James and Sirius really did together, on Peter. No matter if it's true, Snape can pretend it is... licking up the humiliation and playing lord and master behind Voldemort's back.

Just a head's up that you might want to cut the "HBP's new horrible!Snape" part for those who don't want to know anything...I've seen people jumped over for less than that. :>

Done. I'd rather hear from you than someone who's been spoiled. Boy, this is hard. If I were them, I wouldn't read LJ at all for the next week.

But I think your lines were:

"[Reaction X] about the story. Oh by the way, [spoiler warning]." Otherwise it can seem a little, erm, harsh?

Oh, er, sorry. I'd opened a bunch of windows to read things, and then some friends called and said "We're going to be in front of your building in four minutes," so I just thought I'd dash off a quick note before I had to leave; hadn't had time to read the fic yet. I'm a little curious how the comment seemed harsh, though, as I can't seem to find it on rereading.

I did have Reaction X to the story, actually. :> No, I enjoyed it, very twisted; it was cool to see Peter admitting to licking James's boots when apparently he had not, and especially cool how Snape seemed to get off on it...

It brought me up short. I felt better when I read McTabby's post, which went something along the lines of --

"I (spoiler) then they (spoiler) went to (spoiler) which of course (spoiler). "

Behind each spoiler cut was one word. *snort*

Yeah, I guess our posts are going to look like Gestapo-censored mail for some time to come. *snip-snip-snip, makes snowflakes* I should know better, I mean, I have a huge problem in Stargate because I'm a full year behind the rest of the fandom. But this is my second near-miss on a spoiler today.

As for the story -- thank you! I'm rattling my head to see if there are any more twisted Snape/Peter tales in there. I'd like to have an entire series of ficlets.

Your evil Snape is so sexy and manipulative, perfect! Snape unleashing all his anger for the Marauders on Peter with no possibility for retribution is something I love to see. *veg*

Are you planning to write more of those juicy slice-of-life?

Man. I missed the link up at the top until just now, and man...

I'm not a very good feedbacker, but every two months or so I try and do better by feedbacking fic when I read it. Apparently, my way of responding is an incoherent asfjkaldvnaeoivacd every time I like something.

That said, a flood of Snape/Peter?! Alright then, if you insist.

a flood of Snape/Peter?!

It's far, far too easy.

I'm terrible at feedback myself, so what I generally do is rec stories. It's my way of saying thank you and "Hey guys, look! Over here!"
