A whole-hearted thank you to [livejournal.com profile] ze_dragon who downloaded a slew of songs last night (18 I think it was), and to [livejournal.com profile] adred who helped me out with the Metallica songs for SNAFU. Then many, many of you who had great suggestions.

What I have thus far for Beg Me For It soundtrack --

Sober - Tool Got it!
*Career Opportunities - The Clash (it's a little too peppy by itself, but if I follow it with...) Got it!
*Pinhead - The Ramones (...it might work)
Orange Crush - REM Got it!
Intolerance - Tool Got it!
The Grudge - Tool Got it!
Losing My Religion - REM (hmm.. this may follow Beat On The Brat) Got it!
*Beat On The Brat - The Ramones (or maybe...)
*The Crusher - The Ramones
Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me - The Smiths (this song is utterly perfect for the arena, it even has crowd noises) Got it!
Plan A - The Dandy Warhols Got it!

* on the chopping block as they don't quite fit

I'm still looking at other songs, but at this point they have to fit what I have. So checking out Placebo (didn't get to them yesterday), and the Violent Femmes, plus So Fast, So Numb by REM.

For the other parts, I'm looking for:

Jezebel - Sade ... for Sex, Drugs and Death Eater Rock - Got it!
Brave Faces - Midnight Oil ... for SNAFU
Beds Are Burning - Midnight Oil ... for SNAFU
Master Of Puppets - Metallica ... for SNAFU - Got it!
Orion - Metallica ... for SNAFU - Got it!
Battery - Metallica ... for SNAFU (getting the idea that SNAFU is metal heaven?)
Pinhead - The Ramones ... for Beg Me For It
The Crusher - The Ramones ... for Beg Me For It
Beat On The Brat - The Ramones ... for Beg Me For It
Garden of Serenity - The Ramones ... for the drabbles - Got it!
You Were My Last High - The Dandy Warhols ... for the drabbles

ETA: Thank you very much, guys! Especially [livejournal.com profile] thywillbedone who's really gone over the top.

Might I suggest some of the tracks off Anthrax's "Sound of White Noise"?
Fairly aggressive, definitely distinctive, and lyrically intelligent.

Actually, I think I'm maxed out on aggressive music. What I find is I need something sensual and lush for Sex, Drugs and Death Eater Rock</a?. Think the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Blood Sugar Sex Magic and then Sade's Jezebel followed by The Dandy Warhols' Sleep. Very muscially rich. The two scenes I'm trying to match are where Ron and Draco go hunting for chocolate, high as kites, and plunder Percy's rooms. Then the very intimate emotional sex scene at the very end. The Dandy Warhols' Sleep is for the scene where Ron wakes before Draco does. Any ideas? Everything for Death Eater Rock is overtly sexual. Overtly sexual...

First thing that comes to mind is Ani DiFranco (http://www.columbia.edu/~marg/ani/)'s "Shy". Also check out Meshell Ndegeocello (http://www.meshell.com/)'s version of Bill Wither's "Who is he and what is he to you?" as well as anything else on her Peace Beyond Passion disc; Leviticus(Faggot) being a stanout.

Cheers

I have Master of Puppets for you if you need it, Icarus. Actually, I got others and for some reason, For Whom The Bell Tolls sounds fitting as well, but it's your story. :-P

Yes!! If you could send it to icarus.ancalion@gmail.com that would be wonderful. (Good call on For Whom The Bell Tolls -- it's definitely on the list, I just happen to already own it. Listened to it over and over while I was writing SNAFU.)

YAY!!

God, have I told you how much I still squee when I think of this series and even more so when you told me what music inspired it?? Needless to say, I play it ALL the time, Master of Puppets in particular, for the confrontation with Lucius.

*dies again*

I'm sending Don't Tread On Me as well, as soon as the pc calms back down again, lol.

I've downloaded pretty much all the songs you asked for, just waiting for them to be finished.

Will send ASAP. If not tonight, then sometime tomorrow.

Actually Icarus, how much online time to you have? Cause I am sending you a couple of songs through yousendit, but I wanted to go through them with you before,if that's ok. I don't know if you use any chat program, but let me know one way or another.

Mine is: mi_nombre_es_mio

But I'm not always there, so you're gonna have to email me or something, if you're going to be on.

One of the songs that didn't quite download was Brave Faces, but almost everything else I have.

Maybe I need to lay off the drugs, but Tori Amos' Boys for Pele might be an interesting change in the SNAFU soundtrack.

I'll check it out, but SNAFU as a story doesn't have any quiet points -- unless you count running down hallways, wand clutched in a death-grip as "quiet." Comparatively speaking.

Metal just fits the feel of being, oh, chased by outraged trolls. :D
