Note I'm rather quiet on LJ these days?

I've changed desks at my little theatre-office temp job and the set-up is so not condusive to dinking around on the internet: whoever comes through the main door looks right into my computer screen.

I happen to sit outside my boss' office.

Therefore the person who waltzes by the most just happens to be my boss.

Mmmyeeaaah... No LJ-ing between tasks for me, no siree.

Soundtrack update: when I was looking for more sarcasm how could I have forgotten Nirvana?

The wish list:

Does anyone have "Dumb" by Nirvana?
Any Ramones fans out there? Still looking for the chipper "Beat on the Brat." (And if it's handy, "Commando.")
"Is There Anybody Out There?" by Pink Floyd (I only have on cassette).
"Battery" by Metallica?

And you folks who worry about my Metallica fetish, have no fear: I also have jazz songs by Sade, Siouxie and the Banshees' "Trust In Me," tracks from Peter Gabriel's Passion, "Playground Love," a local garage band, and folk music from Cat Stevens.

Those of you who worry this might be a weird playlist, okay well that's a given.

I'm definitely a Ramones fan, and I've got quite a bit of their stuff. I'll e-mail you privately with a link.

Wonderful, thank you. I'm really getting into their stuff in general -- how did I miss them in high school? *sighs at 80s top 40*

Sorry, I don't have any of these.
But while I was scanning my flist yesterday (skip=wtf??? because of one week holiday *sigh*) I saw that you were looking for some Midnight Oil and Placebo stuff. Do you need anything of these? I might help you...

Welecom back -- skip 900...

Yes! I'm looking for Beds Are Burning and Brave Faces by Midnight Oil (I love Midnight Oil but my CDs were stolen out of my car). As for Placebo, let me dig up the songs.

Here you are - Beds Are Burning (http://s50.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0V4YOMWT13WSM0RYZ7YT43S70S)
I can only find Diesel and Dust at the moment... sorry

There's a small chance I have "Battery" somewhere in the House of Cedar. The husband is a Metallica fan. If I can find it, it's yours.

Battery is so essential to the SNAFU collection, which, although I have added some milder songs, generally blows the walls off and kills nearby plants.

:D

Yes, please and thank you. I raided WG's collection while writing SNAFU and got hooked on really good Met-al. Metallica's great because they've learned to heighten the impact by contrasting soft lyrical sections with the hard core action, so there's a balance you don't find with most heavy metal groups.

You can blame my addiction on SNAFU.

Hey, I have Battery if you still need it. But *cough* I've never sent audio files before, sooo...we'll see if this works.
Anyway, you're soundtrack looks awesome. Maybe because I have my own metal fetish *g*.

Thank you! Mwah. I think it worked, but let me try it.

What I'm going to do is put up a poll, and I'll make all the songs available for downloading to a filtered list for those people who want them. For everyone else I'll just post the playlist.

Can you try uploading Battery again? I've tried downloading it twice but it's only giving me 68% of the song. I don't know if the problem's on my end or if something went wrong with Yousendit.

[livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru has volunteered to do the final review of the songs with a list of scenes in hand (he's read Beg Me For It).
