icarusA calm reporting on the facts. I have wondered from the get-go how we're going to take care of 500,000 people who've been wiped out. Who and how are we going to pay for this? What restructurings need to happen in the Bush administration to take care of all these people?
First the good news: Bella_the_dark is okay and describes all the aid and support pouring into her community.
Now the stupid news: FEMA is requiring Katrina victims with no access to a phone to call to request aid. Then they don't get aid, rather, people with no current fixed address are mailed a packet with a form. Where is it mailed? Good question.
Here's the real story. We're about to get a tour of how our government treats the destitute.
