And The Puppy is coming to town, and he's a big Sam fan. WG and I pre-ordered Season 8. *Icarus rubs hands together in glee.*
I'm reading SG-1 fic again as I'm too tired to write Lucius Gen (my body certainly remembers the exhaustion). I now have 28 stories to add to the Stargate rec-list. Oh, only three of those are from tonight, heh. I've promised an SG-1 story to
Hey, I've a question:
Are there any really good Gen Sam-centric fics for The Puppy? I mean, first class, non femme-slash.

http://komos.lyricalmagic.com/
(ya know, it would have been easier to say, 'her lj and her website' but you can never be certain of gender. *G*)
As for the fan awards .. I don't always like what is there either but I don't have the desire to go through the many sites that offer SG1 fic looking for even halfway decent stuff. There is so much junk out there - I really only read this fandom when you or someone else rec's something. :)

As for the stories I'm going to add to my list, I haven't done reviews for them yet but, in exchange for the lovely fics (and thank you for the link to
Things He Remembers (http://members.aol.com/CoriLannam/heremembers.html) by Cori Lannam (PG-13 iirc)
Episode tag to Fallen, and everything is familiar but unexpected. The telling conversations between Jack and Daniel interspersed throughout this expertly turned fic sparkle with their companionable snark. Cori takes a different side road every time you think you've read a thousand versions of this theme. Dripping with season 7 spoilers.
Aliens Made Me Do It (http://www.livejournal.com/users/teaphile/142307.html) by
Damned funny. Really genuinely funny. What if Jack is asked to rule the world? He's everything you'd expect, and his friends tongue-in-cheek attitude make this witty little fic real enough to love.
Enough (http://apocrypha.populli.net/enough.htm) by (I hate it when authors don't put their name on each story and make you hunt) PG-13/Preslash
It's fluff, but fluff in a good way, a warm cup of hot chocolate sort of way, a pleasant following to a dark-fic sort of way. Kick back and watch Jack and Daniel's relationship gently develop, virtually unnoticed by them though they know in their silent sort of way.
Games Men Play (http://www.livejournal.com/users/dustandroses/112364.html) by
Hot, hot, hot steamy sex. This story has a wonderful Jack-voice and cocky attitude, and -- rimming! My favorite kink. I haven't read all the parts yet, but come and play.
Getting Off (http://www.livejournal.com/community/jackslashdaniel/144925.html) by
This is one of my all-time favourite porn fics. It's very much Jack and Daniel, and they have one goal in mind: exactly what the title says. It's rare to find an author who can use sex characterization, but Stellahobbit is one of the few.
Father's Little Helper (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ducks_in_a_row/7045.html) by Eos, PG-13
Fun, amusing take on the 'Alien's Made Them Do It' cliche. Not what you'd expect at all. What, you think I'd spoil your fun?
Pick Up Here (http://area52hkh.net/ask/kres/pickuphe.php) by
It has the flavor of an AU but it's really a tightly plotted and fascinating SG-1 adventure when things have gone badly wrong. What I really like is Kres' insights into Daniel complex psyche. I've heard rumors of a continuation though I don't know if that's happened yet.
Slip (http://www.livejournal.com/users/troyswann/257576.html) by Salieri PG-13 I think
This gorgeously written bit of angst (and really, you have to love it for its simplicity) leaves you feeling oddly warm and yet sad.
Penn Spy Credo (http://komos.lyricalmagic.com/credo.html) by Komos, NC-17
Sometimes it's hard to follow who's saying what in this all-dialogue piece, but Komos has such a talent for very masculine, happily raw and vital sex, you will enjoy every minute of it.
Upside Down (http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/feistydanny/upsidedown.htm) by Eos, R irrc
Sam know something she shouldn't, and the brevity of this review tells you that I'm out of time to write reviews. This is a sly and amusing story, with optimum levels of good-natured Jack/Daniel snark.
