Just how far can you push an R-rating?
Feb. 23rd, 2003 09:41 pmWe're about to find out.
I ran my NC-17 version of the Midnight chapter of 'Primer to the Dark Arts' past isiscolo (thank you!) to see if maybe the R-version was better. Ha. Like less sex is ever better. Isis said the NC-17 was better, for more than just the yummy sex.. it had character development. So I threw the NC-17 to CLS. CLS previously said, no, she thought the R-version was subtle, just what was needed.
Then she read the NC-17.
"Let me at it," she said. "I can make this an R rating."
I believed her. She got 'The Book of Eros' past the censors, erections, blow jobs and all. I'm still amazed.
I got it back, and blinked at how little she changed. The Beta-Wizard did it again.
And she says, rather amused (since she's a mod at www.fictionalley.org) "I wonder what people are going to say..."
We'll know soon if it's too hot for prime time. I submitted it today.
Unbelievably, I actually have a plot bunny for Draco begging Ron for sexual pleasure. And Lucius is the minister of magic. Do I dare write this?

(I didn't get the boozefest email. Maybe you sent it to the update list instead? Or maybe Yahoo's playing funny buggers again. Probably).
