Have you ever had a professional relationship that bordered on friendship once, then faltered, and you're stuck in a semi-friendship where in reality you found out don't like each other? Or rather, you still try to like the other person, and they show every sign of attempting to like you, but every now and then the dislike seeps through... a little comment, a nasty observation... and you suspect that your own disdain for that person is also showing. It's poisonous and I'm tempted to just end it, but I've gotta work with this person so....
Is it unhealthy to grit one's teeth for any great length of time?

Have you ever had a professional relationship that bordered on friendship once, then faltered, and you're stuck in a semi-friendship where in reality you found out don't like each other? Or rather, you still try to like the other person, and they show every sign of attempting to like you, but every now and then the dislike seeps through... a little comment, a nasty observation... and you suspect that your own disdain for that person is also showing. It's poisonous and I'm tempted to just end it, but I've gotta work with this person so....

8. An interesting fact about you: Um... I pay my own tuition? I once tried to sleep in a burning bed (I did not know it was smouldering)? Define interesting.

10. Favourite place to spend time: The bookstore. I like Barnes and Noble just b/c they are everywhere and are all the same. Time and place are meaningless there.
11. Favourite lyric: At the moment, 'you know I know you know/ I'm a-hearkening back to a time ago' Odd yes, but it is my current favorite line. The lyrics to 'Long Forgotten Fairytale' by MagFields is also great.
12. The best time of the year: Christmas b/c everyone opens the presents you bought them and get excited. And b/c everyone buys me gift certificates for the bookstore and for coffee.

About gritting your teeth: It can give you headaches if you do it too much and it can hurt your teeth if you clench too tightly and too often.

Date: 2006-02-08 04:30 am (UTC)As to the last question - unhealthy to grit teeth? THe answer is Very! GIves you headaches, phantom toothaches, and if you carry the stress to bed you end up grinding your teeth and wearing away the enamel on the surfaces, so the phantom toothache becomes real.
THere ya go... I only had to shell out 48$ for that information before Christmas. Could have sworn it was a real cavity.

6. Do you read my journal?: It's on my most filtered reading filter--the one I read when I don't have much time. Not that I always read my flist, but when I do, you're definitely one of the people I read.
7. If yes, what makes it especially good or bad?: You're very interesting. I'm not in all of your fandoms so I don't comment all that much, but that's not bad; at least half of the content goes right over my head. I like your passion, and you do write very good fic.
8. An interesting fact about you: I bought a fruit bowl and filled it with fruit, and it made me feel like a good mother. Now I want bowls of fruit in every room of the house. Except I don't want the fruit eaten, in case it spoils my artistic fruit arrangements. :)
9. Are you in love/do you have a crush at the moment?: I'm so many worlds of in love.
10. Favourite place to spend time: Oddly enough, the gutter. I sit on the edge of the gutter out the front while I'm talking to friends on the phone, and when it rained as a kid I would 'race' leaves with my sister. We did it last Christmas and it was grand.
