Denny Crane mentions to his friend Allen that sometimes he thinks he gets married just to be able to tell the same old stories, get that admiring look.

Allen (James Spader) looks at him admiringly. He pauses... and then asks if he can spend the night. They are doing renovations at his place.

"It's always something with you, Allen," Denny says, referring to many other excuses/reasons Allen has to stay with Denny. He hesitates, then says, his eyes sparkling, "Stay as long as you need."

Boston Legal so deserves a slash fandom. They make it so easy.

When I finish my remixredux I'm so going to write something. *g*

At one point Allen had Night Terrors (very scary condition that combines nightmares with sleepwalking) and needed someone to sleep in the same bed with him. After paying his secretary to do so -- she quit when it turned out he really did have Night Terrors and she had to stop him from running off the balcony -- he slept with Denny for a while.

Their conversations, in public, had references to, "I know that I'm sleeping with you but--"

*blinks* Like shooting fish in a barrel.

The writers have to trying for a slash fandom. I mean, just fishing for one. The interaction between the two is already Old Married Upscale Closeted Gay Couple even without the blatant sexual innuendo. And James Spader is probably the most believably slashable actor out there.

I agree, the writers are probably having a ball. They probably know about Kirk/Spock slash starting it all, and the fact that James' character from the movie is being slashed so they are going for the gold. If william Shatner were younger this show would rival SGA for the amount of fic out there. Sadly many people only go for the pretty.

Shatner is the sticking point, I agree. But mature writers should be able to manage. Though I'm not sure I can handle NC-17 of this couple without cringing.

Too bad. We have a come-shot of James Spader in Secretary so he'd be really easy write.

Fading to black, suggesting the rest of the relationship -- but the UST is already on the show. I swear to god the way Spader played it was so full of longing, my jaw dropped.

And my little slasher's mind kicked into full gear.

Is there a fandom for this show?

Though for some reason I really don't ship Denny/Alan in any context other than platonic. Nor is it a matter of the pretty for me. It's more a matter that I crossover Boston Legal with Boondock Saints, and therefore I firmly believe Paul Smecker and Alan Shore are sleeping together.
