Yes, still tinkering with my site. *sigh* I though this was going to be quick and easy.

Which background color do you prefer?

A) The original simple white. Simple. Clean. Gets the job done.

B) A bit of a cream-color. It's a little easier on the eyes.

C) A dove-grey. It works with the graphic.

ETA: White and cream are almost dead-even, with one vote more in favor of cream, with grey a distant third.

Trouble is, on various monitors the colors appear very, very different. On my system, the cream is barely even a color. At school it's a wild yellow-ish color, yeesh.

I like the grey. It's easier on the eyes, though a slightly lighter grey might work better. :-)

Cream or white, the grey's a bit unfriendly.

I think maybe a lighter cream would be best, but if not that, then the white. Incidentally, have you seen the stripper/figure skater video yet? (http://www.mojoflix.com/Video/Evgeni-Plushenko-Sex-Bomb.html).

Oh hell yeah. Too funny.

I really need to write the next part of Out Of Bounds, don't I?

Okay, I know that was a rhetorical question, but *yes*! Quit with your real-life-advacement-and-education crap and slave away on silliness for your salivating fic-addicted public! I've got another business trip coming up, so I'm counting on your for some "Out of Bounds" to make it worthwhile. :)

And even though you already decided, I still vote cream. It's hard to settle down with a good long story with a white background, it makes my eyes think about falling out.

I read through the comments and I didn't find what I was going to say, so I'm going to comment as the random resident dyslexic.

White!

I can't read the grey. Well, I can, but that's because all the text is really big and bolded and stuff. Reading a story on that background would make my eyes skip far too badly. The cream to me shows up as a bit too yellow, and makes my eyes hurt--I can read it if I turn my contrast down to 54, but then it's a bit too dark.

Of course, you should go with what pleases you the most, and if I or people like me really want to read it I/we can always cut and paste it into Word. But if you want my opinion, white all the way. :)

(By the way, a million years of thanks for using a solid colour!)

Oh, I'm not changing the colors on the stories. That's, what? 150+ files to recode? Nuh-uh. I'm just testing the waters on a little more color for the dozen or so navigation pages.

For myself, gah. I hate it when I have to highlight or paste a story in Word. It has to be a darned good story for me to put up with that.

Oh good. I went to recode my site once and gave up because, yeah, far too much work. And I have only about fifty stories.

I will highlight stories, but I hate doing it. I love so many stories at ISF, but I can't read them very well, and there are a couple of archives with lightly textured backgrounds that will hypnotise me. I suppose that sometimes that can be fun, but yeah, it's a bit weird.

I think your navigation pages are lovely the way they are, though. :)

I like the white, personally. Second choice would be grey, though I do agree with the majority that a lighter grey could be better. The cream is atrocious.

That's really thoughtful of you. And yes, it's entirely my fault that Lizard got into SG-1. ;)

She's reviewed me before and I've seen her around (small fandom) but I don't recall if I've read her or not.

For what it's worth, I think the cream is beautiful and jazzy and elegant. Plus, easy on the eyes.

I think that cream is coming across very differently on different monitors. I went to school and opened my site and -- yikes. It was baby-puke yellow.

The white is safe but a little to bright. The grey is way too dark.

I feel like Goldilocks.
