In other news, out of 800 people on the flist I now have exactly two who know me in person. This makes me feel vaguely uncomfortable. Thoughvichka greeting me like we'd stepped into a shampoo ad -- complete with hoisting me in the air like a startled kitten -- still cracks me up. All the police officers were amused, too.

I have had bizarre experiences in past fandoms, meeting people I met online. The kicker was the woman from the LotR fandom who was very concerned that my boyfriend and I lived together, unmarried, for years. She was very concerned, she was, but promised to pray for me.
