Jun. 5th, 2006 02:45 pmOne final down. How did I do, sans my usual panic?
Meh.
We'll see what grade it spits out, but I really do seem to require the focusing power of adrenaline. My arguments were clunky, wordy, and meandering, showed a lack of preparation (or tiredness perhaps), and the final essay on the exam just didn't have a tight conclusion.
Heh. I also forgot to bring a blue book. So I clipped together a stack of lined paper, drew the UW logo on the front and wrote "given the loose relationship between the sign and signifier, we'll just call this a blue book." They'll either be amused or think I'm a smart-ass, I think the former.
Two more papers (I'm at the library doing in-depth research now... at the speed of a tree sloth on dope...), then I'll be on the starting block for:
- One Jack/Daniel story for the J/D Fic-A-Thon, due late June
- The next part of Out Of Bounds
- This "John Sheppard screws up" story that's bugging me. Poor John. I'm being so tough on him these days.
- Perhaps a DVD commentary post to Last Port Of Call which stirred up... quite a stir. We have to wait for my brain to start thinking in complete sentences again however. I've been writing about Post-Modernism. That should tell you all you need to know.
The barbarian horde of relatives arrive this weekend for
wildernessguru's niece's graduation. He's working so many hours, I fully intend to spoil him once I've finished finals. Tomorrow.
Whew.

Date: 2006-06-05 10:31 pm (UTC)Oregon stopped using "blue books" a decade ago, in favor of "green books" which are exactly the same, only 1. recycled, and 2. Green which is a school color.
I continue to think this is hilarious.

I saw a mix of blue and green books today. In truth, mine was a white book. But we can visualize.

Date: 2006-06-05 11:06 pm (UTC)It's just... WG started laughing at me when I tried. And I thought, I'm so unpleasant when I'm intense panic-mode, what if the results are the same if I don't freak out?
We're about to find out.
