icarus: (Out Of Bounds 2)

A sharp-eyed Out Of Bounds reader sent me this photo news story today:

Figure skater Johnny Weir continues to taunt us with his ambiguous sexuality.

Ambiguous? Ha. But the heels alone are worth a look.

Guh.

One more week to jury duty... yay!*

* By way of explanation: I've always wanted to do jury duty. And I play (ignore Freudian slip) plan to use the time to write Out Of Bounds. I'm several chapters ahead, it's just the second half of the next chapter that needs to be written.

I've done jury duty once, and I liked it. I wrote heaps of LOTR fic during the endless hours of sitting around doing nothing. I think the other jurors thought I was taking copious notes on the case :D

We slash writers are conscientious jurors, by Jove.

Nice photo - but do you think the scarf makes him look kind of hippy?

Good to know that people are enthused about doing their civic duty ;). Yay more Out of Bounds!

Also, that picture is about 37 different kinds of fabulous; much praise to your reader.

Apparently Johnny is known in some parts of the gay community as "Johnny Queer".

My jury duty experience involved 9 days of being sequestered on a double homicide case. I did a lot of crossword puzzles. And ate a LOT of good food! They really took care of us in the dining department.

*drool* Oh, the pretty. And I was called but not to a trial. We just had to wait almost 2/3 of the day while (with an open door) we got stared out by defendents and their lawyers. Trying to gauge our mood maybe? Trying to figure out if it was worth a shot of going to the jury. My favorite moment: we could hear *everything* people were saying outside our "waiting" room (didn't these lawyers figure that out) and we heard one lawyer exhorting their client "Look, you're not going to jail, you're not going to jail," and the woman next to me turns and says "Say, isn't that up to us?". *cough* By the end of the day waiting we were going a little surly and were ready to convict a juvenile whose lawyer went all Clarence Darrow when he was doing a plea bargain for his client. Argh. Finally, after he'd said his piece the judge allowed us to be discharged for the day. We were told we were the "hammer" used to keep the lawyers in line. If we hadn't been there they'd have been demanding a trial by jury. So, no not a waste.

Nummy, what's disturbing though is that i recognize the shoes as a pair of Arika Nerguiz tango stilettoes from my job.... but OMG the legs.

I thought jury duty was very fun when I got to do it! (I was actually on the jury but the trial only lasted a few days.)
