Been quiet lately, I know. Ticking away on Out Of Bounds (or actively avoiding it). [livejournal.com profile] amothea suggests that I "go for a C." Worrying too much about producing good fic has made it hard to write.

In the meantime, as part of my avoidance strategy, I updated my website with two [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfics:

Necromancy for the Living. John/Rodney. R. 23k.
How does John write a mission report about something no one wants to hear? (For the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic mission report challenge. No spoilers, although the report was written for Auburn's beautiful In The City Of Seven Walls.)

Where I learned that no one reads the A/N. Can't tell you how many people have asked me for more, or a prequel, and I've had to send them the link to Seven Walls. *laughs* Okay, I'm not good at reading the A/N either.

Power Napping. John, Rodney. PG. 10k.
Sheppard's little trick had just been useful for babysitting really, and babysitting McKay, but it had become something that could kill him. (Written for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic superpower challenge.)

And I've quickly grown addicted to [livejournal.com profile] xanthestories "Coming Home." It's the BDSM follow-up to "The General & Dr. Sheppard" and it's just as unrepentantly fun. Of course, you have to have an appreciation for a very dominant possessive!John in leather pulling Rodney over his knee for an intense hand spanking.

Did I mention it was fun? Oh yes.

[livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru says: "Kitties are good for headaches." He held the fluffy soft Monte-kitty and felt his headache drain peacefully away.

WG is right: they've actually done studies which show that patting/cuddling cats relieves stress and lowers heart rate and stuff. :) I imagine it would work for headaches, too.

True. I understand there's a program that brings Ragdoll kitties to retirement homes for cuddling and petting.

Fuzzhead is particularly peaceful. He camps out on my meditation cushion, and even when he was given a shot he didn't so much as flinch (the vet was amazed).

Aw! :) My two are hyperactive... I think it's partially to do with their age, though: they're starting to mellow out.

Awesome idea aboput the retirement home thing. At the hospice where my dad and grandmother were, they had resident cats who'd hang out with the people there. I'm pretty sure if I was in a place like that, I'd want animals around.

Mine is giving me a headache because he has decided that he absolutely must sit on me like some bizarre koala bear-cat and try to lick my neck. Whilst I am doing my best to frantically type out my thesis.

Stay off cat! Dammit.

There's a cat who misses you. Have you tried bringing friends over to pet kitty (and get kitty out of your hair)? I usually can hand fuzzhead off to WG when I'm busy.

He has issues with me going to work, so when I am home he tends to wind around me like a limpet. Doesn't like the computer because it gets more attention than him at the moment.

I can usually pass him off to the housemate for a bit, but the housemate isn't in at the moment. Hopefully he'll be back soon and provide a distraction.
