Gift ficlet
Oct. 22nd, 2006 11:35 pmOh well. While I'm waiting for the (reads) unpronouncable drugs to wear off... gift-fic, for
lizardspots, who shall be a very fine doctor someday of the tolerably sane variety.
She is currently in the... (checks GPS fandom locator)... PotC fandom, so a one-time only PotC ficlet, just for her:
Jack Sparrow was marooned on an island.
Fortunately, this was no ordinary sort of island.
Oh yes, there was a slight problem with a lack of water. A minor issue, that.
And then the lack of shelter was depressing in the frequent squalls. Though there was a single palm tree that acted as a reasonable anchor when the waves came over the island. A dratted nuisance.
But all in all it was a decent sort of island, having two things to speak for it. First was a regular supply of rum. The second was a regular supply of ships, carrying rum.
Any island, no matter how desolate, becomes a paradise under the right circumstances. Which in this case was the ability to leave such paradise and watch it disappear behind the waves through bleary, rum-addled eyes.
The end.
(Paying for one's passage, by the way, in said rum.)
(Truly a paradise, I tell you.)
