In other news, in my much-loathed creative writing class I managed to initiate a detailed discussion of the word "cock" in fiction. This is because I turned in homoerotic porn for my final story.

Up until the porn people really liked the story. "Great characterization, well-structured" things like that. Of course, it was written before this wrecked my mental "safe writing space," so of course it's better than anything I'm writing now.

This is the story where I tested whether or not my feeling that my writing was actually getting worse was accurate: even the professor felt this story was way better than anything else I'd written for the class. Uh-huh. Thought so. Since the class was such a waste of time I decided to at least get an edited story out of it, and this one has been languishing on my hard drive for two years. Sure enough, I got good feedback (even from my shocked classmates) and the story is improved considerably. I'll probably post it f-locked.
