My professors are great.

Have I said yet how great my professors are?
My Yogachara teacher let me know that the whole class was behind, so what I've already read is up-to-date.
My Sanskrit teacher (who is terrific, by the way, we talked out the struggle I was having in the class the first week) is having me translate the reading passages rather than do the homework sentences: "Those sentences are actually too hard, in my opinion, to reinforce what we're studying. They're not worth the time they'll take you." He advised me to focus on the new grammar -- and of course the 10-minutes-per-day paradigm practice. He's mostly interested in our walking out of class with a useable base of Sanskrit knowledge.
My Himalayan Worlds professor wrote: "I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. Regarding your work for my course: do what you can, but ultimately, I will make sure that these circumstances will not negatively affect your final grade." I think I'll ask her if I can take it as a 3 credit class, in the realm of
libitina's advice. She had intended for it to be a 3 credit class but the college messed up and listed it for 5 credits, so she had to change the syllabus the first week.
I learned last year when I was wreck over WG's mom getting cancer that however little you can do, don't put anything off, just--do a sketchy version if you must.
electricandroid: Thank you. *snugs*
filenotch: Good advice.
amothea: Oh, thank goodness. I haven't forgotten your song.
starrylizard: I'm still playing that vid over and over. The cut between the skating and the rollerblading is particularly good.
teaphile: Thanks, they're so elegant. *admires the Out Of Bounds covers*
The people who decided reviews would cheer me up: It worked.
Seattlites: If
wildernessguru doesn't want to go to the nationals (and I think that's the case) would any of you be interested in a ticket? That skater in
starrylizard's vid will be competing, and
roaringmice tells me he's a favorite to win...
... would you like a ticket?
