It's 2,400 words, about five pages per my settings in Word.

I love Lorne, so I wrote the story from his perspective. It has Sheppard as well, so that makes me happy.

I don't think I'm all that nice to Kate, but it's the male perspective on an awkward situation.

Much as it pains me, I think het is the way to go with Lorne due to the vibe the canon character gives off. The only fic I've ever seen that convincingly used him otherwise was of the Ancient-sex-ray-made-them-do-it variety.

I agree. While a good slasher can come up with a situation or extended character development for anyone, Lorne gives off a total straight vibe.
