I've been meaning to ask, especially since I've come to this story just recently: what's your background with ice skating?
Its very obvious that you know more than the average bear.

(I figure skated for 6 years, never competed or did anything like that.)

Barely any figure skating experience at all. I grew up on a lake in Michigan. it froze in the winter. I skated. That's about it.

I fell in love with figure skating watching Scott Hamilton sweep the gold in 1984, then watched irregularly (an Olympics only viewer) for a couple decades.

Everything in depth about figure skating I've learned during the research for Out Of Bounds over the last year (part of why it's taken me so long to write it, research takes time, my friend), info from places like the Golden Skate forums, and two competitive skaters who've been reading Out Of Bounds for a while.
