This morning I clicked on the bathroom light. It didn't work.

"Darn it, I just replaced that lightbulb," I muttered, and stormed over to get another.

Put in the new lightbulb. Click. Nothing. "Worthless drugstore lightbulbs...."

I stopped by the computer and clicked the power on it. No response. Click the light in the kitchen. Nothing.

Oooooh... come to think of it, [livejournal.com profile] wildernessguru usually leaves a lot of lights on in the morning and they were all off. I turned around and the rest of the city seemed to be business as usual. Stepped out of the apartment. Yep. All the lights in the hall were out, too. It was kinda neat.

Went downstairs. The lights were on at the tattoo parlor across the street. Huh.

Later I found out from the manager that the transformer had blown at 6am. She looked harried, "I've been at this all day. It's just this building and of course it's the city." I rolled my eyes in appreciation.

You know what? I got my Back2Basics story written today. And I bought Monte's special vet food. And I did some dishes and I set up the altar and....

I get a lot more done when this computer's off.

Wow. No power all day.... [ponder]

Let's see, I could read (in a couple of rooms at least -- our condo is pretty dark) or do some needlework (wow, what a concept!) or... that's about it, LOL! Use my laptop for two or three hours. I could see packing up the laptop and trekking out to find a coffee shop or something where I could plug in. :P Or maybe do some shopping; we need a new quilt anyway. See a movie?

There's just not a lot of productive stuff I could do without power, LOL!

Angie, who's really lame

I just ate far too much pizza and feel very ill.

*lies in chair for a bit before writing out rest of comment*

That would be.. disturbing. Having had something similar happen to me and the house next door and no one else it is very odd. Plus standing on a barstool trying to reach a fuse box halfway up a fifteen foot wall, and only having a candle to to see if it is the fuse or not.. whilst drunk.. er didn't help either. :P

When the power is out and I have located why, even if I personally can't fix it, I do rather enjoy the sensation. :)

*nods* Me too. It's quite scary and unfortunately my behaviour doesn't change even though I know.
