Apartment hunting in fairyland!
Dec. 1st, 2007 08:50 pmSaw one apartment last weekend. Went to another yesterday (we didn't like the neighborhood and gave it a pass). Saw another today. The next we visit tomorrow.
We (by which I mean the illustrious
wildernessguru) found a fairyland neighborhood. Little tiny shops with handmade signs and not a chain store or Starbucks in sight. Wacky streets that wind this way and that -- we laughed at a street sign that had three street names on it and arrows pointing in a confused fashion. There are little teenie toy houses and people caring for their yards even in the snow. This area is well-loved.
Homey, cute, totally us. I hope we can find other apartments there because the apartment building was terrific. The apartment itself? Meh. Not so much. It felt... industrial. But it had a beautiful rooftop deck.
And then it started to snow!
I jogged out to the edge of the balcony, grinning like a fool in front of my potential new landlady, the wind blustering snowflakes around us. We explored the fairyland as it was slowly blanketed in fluttery white. Now Seattle is beautiful and white. WG and I got treats and are home watching movies while I do my final papers.
I have one more week of school before finals. Cramming this weekend for my last papers. Have to write one tonight. Edit the rough draft of my ten-page report and then email it.
