Ha. My poor Out Of Bounds betas.

At least they're not whimpering yet.

You see, perfica has done a lot of work on Out Of Bounds over the months, and now the new betas are jumping into the middle of the pond.

I had no idea we'd fleshed out so much backstory.

In just three days rabidfan, dossier, sarka, and emeraldsword have been flooded with 21 back-and-forth emails and a massive story outline spreadsheet. Mostly me pouring it out to (on?) them. None of the emails are short. I realize, of course, that a lot of this is catch-up work. dossier and rabidfan are the most involved in the discussion so far (especially dossier, wow), while sarka and emeraldsword will most likely be more involved in the beta of specific scenes.

The back room of Out Of Bounds is a busy place. And I'm not even giving them all the skating videos I watch (mostly because it's a paid site).

Should I be this gleeful about overworking my betas? Or maybe I'm just happy that they know that yes, sometimes I'm slow to update but by god, I'm always working on this thing, always, I take my notebook to bed with me at night, I'm not shitting you. Or perhaps it's just fun to share the music and the cool stuff that's coming because I can't wait but there's lots of transitional stuff to wade through until we get there.

Heh. I think that last one's it, actually. *g* I mean, Blink 182? Is so 28-year-old John.

Blink is John? Hmm. Some songs, definitely, but their slower stuff doesn't seem to really suit him. He's more "Dammit" and less "Adam's Song" if you catch my meaning. Now, Dropkick Murpheys, on the other hand...

Well, maybe those specific songs aren't the best examples; I just have a peculiar mental block when it comes to remembering the names of Blink songs.

And I've heard that song, actually--if it's the same one (My version was labeled as Blink-128 but was actually Me First and the Gimme Gimmes) and...yeah, that's a John song. Will it be making an appearance in OoB or is it just a thought experiment?

1) The Nationals are this week
2) Christopher Bowman passed away
3) We have a lot of catching up to do

I'm so happy to learn your new betas are working so hard with you on "Out Of Bounds!" Finally, I succumbed and read everything you've posted on this wip. Now, I'm impatiently awaiting more more more, please please please! As soon as you're ready, of course. But this is a truly superb story with such a high quality of writing! I understand it doesn't just "write itself" in any sense of the phrase!

Thank you for offering your work to us. I love the story and your spot-on portraits of John and Rodney. Looking forward to the next installments....

whee! I'm thoroughly enjoying it, thank you! I will admit that I'm crap with commas, so having a pair that's willing to do line edits on specific scenes is fabulous.

I meant to remark on the Blink 182--I agree completely, I think that is right up John's alley, and Rodney would hate it.
