The new neighbors downstairs.

On the one hand, the new neighbors (you know guys with the power tools?) are playing music too loudly, it's after 10 p.m., and wildernessguru has to be up at 4 a.m. They completely ignored my knock and refused to come to the door.

On the other hand, when I knocked a few minutes later the guy from Poland in the apartment next to them came to the door completely, unselfconsciously stark naked, and asked me what was going on in his Zelenka-ish eastern European accent. Which made my night. (He had his girlfriend over and he was a) mostly hard, and b) well hung.)

Also, I now have soooooo many bunnies about Zelenka being unselfconsciously naked and freaking McKay out.


Apparently, Zelenka slept in the nude.

"You knock on my door, and now I have to put on some pants?" Zelenka puzzled at Rodney, mildly annoyed.

"McKay..." John said. He leaned his shoulder against the wall. "Eastern Europeans have different attitudes about these things."

"Yes. Now what is it you want?" Zelenka put his hands on his hips.

Rodney had his hand out to cover... certain parts as he blinked away. "Well, I -- uh, that is to say, we, I -- meaning Sheppard and I, we were--"

"I'll translate." John rolled his eyes and leaned his head against the wall, completely untroubled. His eyes flicked down briefly. "Rodney and I were playing a multi-player video game. Well, it turns out that the power recalibration protocols you established today forces it to run at half power. We were just wondering if you could either change the protocols or give us a work around."

Rodney spun towards him. "I could do this on my own, of course--" His glanced downward and looked away in horror. "--but it would be much quicker and easier if you just told us what you did, and by the way, you're supposed to send me a report on any major changes!"

"But this was not a major change...."

John interrupted, slouching against the wall as he poured on the charm, "It isn't. But it does affect our game. So if you could just... help us out, we'd be really grateful."

Zelenka muttered in Czech, shrugged, and described to Rodney a quick work around. He shook his head as he turned, giving them an eye full of his bare ass just before the door slid shut. John grinned.

"I can't believe it!" Rodney spluttered. "He just stood there. With no clothes on!"

John tipped his head, smothering a small smile. "It's a multi-national force, Rodney."

"You enjoyed that."

"No, I appreciated it." John flushed, giving Rodney his naughty boy smirk. "Hey. What can I say? For a little guy Radek's well hung."

I think it's a difficult one because of the pronounciation issue - it's not a marked difference and easy to mumble over in speech, but it's just randomly become my latest pet peeve because I keep seeing huge numbers of people getting it wrong!
